Hepatitis Council of Qld: HCQ is a confidential non-profit community organisation that provides:
- A free, confidential telephone information service
- Free and confidential counselling with a registered psychologist
- Education and training to organisations, schools and businesses
- Information evenings and outreach events
- Free written and visual resources on viral hepatitis.

Support Groups in Queensland

Brisbane city:
Information evenings and discussion held every last Friday of the month at the Hepatitis Council of Qld, 30 Herschel Street, Brisbane between 6-8pm (starting 27 Feb 09). Contact: 3236 0610.

Gold Coast:
Burleigh Heads: every 1st Thursday of the month from 6-7pm at QuIHN, 12/99 West Burleigh Road. Contact Geoff, 5520 7900.
Miami: support group for people preparing for treatment, on treatment or post-treatment. 1st Tuesday of each month from 10-12 at ATODS Southside Clinic, 2019 Gold Coast Highway. Contact: Sue Sharman on 0414 358127.

Maroochydore: every 1st Wednesday of the month from 12.30-2pm at Maroochy Neighbourhood Centre, 2 Fifth Avenue. Contact Dave, Kaz or Anne on 5443 9576.

Bundaberg:
Q-Clinic, Bundaberg Base Hospital. Wed & Thurs only. Contact: 4150 2754.

Cairns:
Info on testing, monitoring and treatment options. Free workshops on transmission, prevention and care pathways. Contact: Rhondda Lewis, Hepatitis C Health Promotion Project: 4050 6205.

Mackay:
For info, support and referral: Mackay Sexual Health Service. Contact: 4968 3919.

Rockhampton:
Canning Street Clinic. On Tuesdays a liver specialist is available. Contact: 4920 6262.

Toowoomba: For info, support or referral. Contact: Kobi House, ph. 4616 6446.

Townsville:
Townsville Sexual Health Service on 4778 9600.

Hello Dear,

I was on the 08.09.2009 in the Universities Hospital in Leuven.

My liver is back infected. Normally I will start with medication at the end of October or November.
Every day I have to take 5 chemistry pills from 1 medicament, 2 chemistry pills from another medicament. And 1 chemistry syringe in the week.

And this 365 day's in 1 year. I can live normally, but not so fast :):):):):) lol.

Its my last post on this peer support network. I haven't got any reply since my first one. I desparately looked for people who have / or had hepC. But no one replied... I wonder why.
